EXPOSURE! Retrospective Exhibition

UK Now and the British Council present “Exposure!”, a 100 image retrospective of Clive Barda’s photographic career, touring major China opera venues in 2012:

• Guangzhou Opera House April 1 – June 30
• Beijing, National Centre for the Performing Arts April 5-19
• Hangzhou Grand Theatre April 10 – May 10
• Macau Music Festival – Oct 5 – Nov 12 (tentative)

Exposure! will then be transferring to the High House Production Park, Purfleet, home to the Royal Opera House Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop, running from 6 – 14 October. The Royal Opera House will be advertising the exact location on the site together with opening times in due course.

Each exhibition consists of 100 prints drawn from throughout Clive Barda’s career, beginning with classic early black and white images of Jacqueline Du Pré and portraits of iconic figures in music and the performing arts, and concluding with today’s major productions and performers.

On the opening day at each venue, there will be a special presentation of “Clive Barda”, a new 70 minute movie about the photographer by the film maker Philippe Monnet. This will be followed by a personal appearance by Clive Barda who will be interviewed on stage and take part in a question and answer session with members of the audience.

Throughout each exhibition, the “Clive Barda” movie will be shown at intervals. Timings will be available directly from the venue.
